catch up

The week as arrived and it is busy. Monday my family went to the airport to pick up my dad who flew in from North Dakota, Tuesday I went to the doctor expecting to hear some not so good new about the recent test I had done. My hysterogram test came back clear which is wonderful news. Also two weeks ago I gave 12 vitals of blood so they could re check all my hormone levels, all came back on the some what normal side which is also good news so the next step we are taking is and ultrasound to make sure my ovaries are working the way they are supposed to and also to make sure I am not growing any cysts. Today is Wednesday which means I am back to work and today I have six kids under the age of 5. Its all fun and exciting and I love watching kids, just the fighting over one color of cup to one certain car is getting a little irritating... Note to all moms or babysitters.. Buy all the same color of bowls, cups, forks. Also I have like 20 toy cars and they all fight over one. So back in the cupboard they go and onto something else to play with. This weekend I am finally turning 21 and I couldn't be more excited, not because I am  a huge drinker or anything along those lines but I am  excited that I can now go so many more places... Jimmy can get into buffalo wild wings faster since we can sit in the 21 and over side to eat... he also now doesn't feel like he is married to a kid. :) Ill post after my birthday to show you what we have planned. Here is a little saying that has caught my eye this week, It summed up a lot that has been going through my head the last couple of weeks.

New hair

Five years ago on January 19, 2009 I cut my hair from the middle of my back to my chin. I met Jimmy in March of '09 and by then my hair was almost to my shoulders.

 The last two months Jimmy kept asking if I was ever going to cut my hair again, I always said maybe, because after all the hormone treatments to get my body back to somewhat normal  my hair and my skin got all the side effects.

 One night while watching Smurfs 2, when Smurfett gets her hair cut off, I then decided that I should just go for it. I got looking onto pinterest (its my go to site) I found a style I loved. I looked at it at least twice a week then about a week ago I finally decided that if I didn't do it now I would never do it.

So here it is guys!

PCOS

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was sixteen years old. I originally went in because I was having stomach pain and my mom was worried, after blood work and ultrasounds they told me that I had PCOS. I was devastated afterwards and it took me a long time to just know that if I wanted kids it would be a lot harder then most women. I felt like I was letting others down and that I couldn't be the mom I wanted to be or have the huge family I wanted. After many doctor visits I finally found two doctors that were willing to help me and they changed my attitude towards this disease I had. Jimmy never left my side from the day I found out that we probably could never have our own children, he was there holding my hand and has never let go.

My family has also been a huge supporter in everything and they said when there grandkids come it will be a special day! After I found out I knew that I would need a daily reminder to never give up hope and to carry on living this life in a body I wasn't quite sure of, while staying at my dads May/June 2013 he said he would take me to get a tattoo.

Here is a little information on PCOS for all that is wondering what it really is.

 

 

 

PCOS

 

Polycystic (pah-lee-SIS-tik) ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a health problem that can affect a woman's:

• Menstrual cycle
• Ability to have children
• Hormones
• Heart
• Blood vessels
• Appearance

With PCOS, women typically have:

• High levels of androgens (AN-druh-junz). These are sometimes called male hormones, though females also make them.
• Missed or irregular periods (monthly bleeding)
• Many small cysts (sists) (fluid-filled sacs) in their ovaries

How many women have PCOS

 

Between 1 in 10 and 1 in 20 women of childbearing age has PCOS. As many as 5 million women in the United States may be affected. It can occur in girls as young as 11 years old.

 

 

What causes PCOS

 

The cause of PCOS is unknown. But most experts think that several factors, including genetics, could play a role. Women with PCOS are more likely to have a mother or sister with PCOS.
A main underlying problem with PCOS is a hormonal imbalance. In women with PCOS, the ovaries make more androgens than normal. Androgens are male hormones that females also make. High levels of these hormones affect the development and release of eggs during ovulation.
Researchers also think insulin ay be linked to PCOS. Insulin is a hormone that controls the change of sugar, starches, and other food into energy for the body to use or store. Many women with PCOS have too much insulin in their bodies because they have problems using it. Excess insulin appears to increase production of androgen. High androgen levels can lead to:

• Acne
• Excessive hair growth
• Weight gain
• Problems with ovulation

symptoms of PCOS

 

 

The symptoms of PCOS can vary from woman to woman. Some of the symptoms of PCOS include:

• Infertility (not able to get pregnant) because of not ovulating. In fact, PCOS is the most common cause of female infertility.
• Infrequent, absent, and/or irregular menstrual periods
• Hirsutism (HER-suh-tiz-um) — increased hair growth on the face, chest, stomach, back, thumbs, or toes
• Cysts on the ovaries
• Acne, oily skin, or dandruff
• Weight gain or obesity, usually with extra weight around the waist
• Male-pattern baldness or thinning hair
• Patches of skin on the neck, arms, breasts, or thighs that are thick and dark brown or black
• Skin tags — excess flaps of skin in the armpits or neck area
• Pelvic pain
• Anxiety or depression
• Sleep apnea — when breathing stops for short periods of time while asleep

I got Sloan when he was only eight weeks old. He is a yellow lab/Chesapeake bay mix.

He is a old man type dog he likes to just lay around and sleep. Sloan has always been a mommy's boy and most of the time he would much rather be with me all day then be outside.

Bailey Ann

 

 

Jimmy got Bailey for me when she was only three weeks old. Both her parents were killed when she was born and they had to find homes for them really fast. Bailey had to get bottle fed until she got big enough to eat dog food. I felt like a new mom getting up every three hours during the night and then while I was at school asking my mom if she could take care of her. Needless to say she is beyond spoiled and even though I took care of her until she was almost a year old she is Jimmy's baby.

New home

After being let down on four other houses we were very excited when Clea called with the news that they accepted our offer.

 

List price April 2010: $300,000

When we looked at this house we were soo excited and could see our selves living here. I was worried because last time I looked at the house it was listed so high. Over the years they slowly let it down and by the time we got our hands on it the list price was in our budget.

List Price June 2012: $185,600

We talked and talked about what we should offer because to me it still seemed high, probably because I have never bought something so expensive in my life but it seemed like a lot at the time. We put in an offer at 175,000 they came back and said 180,000. We didn't write back for a week because after we got the letter back we heard that one of the other houses we looked at rejected the persons offer. A week later we heard they offered 5,000 more and got the house, so that lead us to keep going on our house.

After all the paper work and stress we got our keys August 21st 2012

On our way to my family's house we got into a car accident with my family. It was a freak accident and I am so happy still to this day that we were all okay and only my mom and myself had to go to the ER.

 

 
 

 

 

It was so scary and from now on we all wear our seatbelts. I believe we had an angel looking over us the whole time. It was a bummer to our good day but in the end I was just more then happy my family was ok.

 

 

Moving in

 

While Jimmy was gone for two weeks on a elk hunt I decided I would paint the house and start moving stuff over because I couldn't wait to get all moved in.

The whole house was white when we first moved in, now the kitchen is red and the living room is grey. Thanks to my family who came over to help me paint and move everything over so when Jimmy got home he really only had the big stuff to move.

 

One night while painting I got a text that Jimmy finally got his elk!

 

 

Jimmy has been a hunter since he was a little kid but became certified when he was only twelve years old. Since he could he put in for a elk tag he has every year, if you are a hunter you know that tags are not cheap then when they get hit you better fill them!

Jimmy spent two weeks up in the mountains looking for dream elk. After a week of only seeing moms and babies he got upset and thought about coming home.

Needless to say he stayed there and ended up coming home with this huge thing!

Our story

Our story began May 1st 2009.

 

 

We dated for almost three years and lived together for almost one before Jimmy finally proposed. He proposed December 24th 2011 in front of my whole family plus his!

The story about the ring

He went to the dentist and told me he would be home late cause he had to go after work. I said that's fine. While in Utah all day I texted him around six and asked him if he was almost done. He said no still here waiting. By eleven at night I was worried, so I texted him again saying where are you no dentist takes this long. He then made up some story about having to make other errands and that he was finally on his way home.

Christmas eve and the weeks leading up to Christmas he was acting funny and I wasn't sure if it was just cause the holidays make us all crazy or what.

So Christmas eve came and in my family we have tradions of opening sister gifts and pjs from our parents. We decided that since my family lived out of town at the time (we currently were renting there house) that we would just do a huge Christmas eve and invite everyone to our house. We drew names and went in order of who got who and opened gifts. I went last and Jimmys little brother Logan had me from that side of the family. I was opening this bag with a whole bunch of nail polish and yes each one was wrapped individialy I got to the bottom of the bag and there was a clear box that was locked with another wrapped box inside, I opened the box and then unwrapped a black box. That's when Jimmy said what is that and I instantly couldn't breath.

Wow!

It has been awhile since I have blogged. My lovely parents bought us a computer for Christmas so hopefully I will be able to keep up on blogging and let you into what we have been up to.
